Doctors agree that the safest place for a baby to sleep is in their own crib or bassinet. Notify Texas Children’s Health Plan as soon as you welcome your new baby to receive a portable crib that doubles as a playpen for your baby to sleep and play safely in!

How do I claim my extra benefit?
Click on the “Redeem” button or call 1-800-990-8247 within 14 days of the birth of your child.
The portable crib can be requested up to 15 days after the end of the eligible year (September 1, 2023 – August 31, 2024).
Who is eligible?
CHIP, STAR, and STAR Kids members who notify Texas Children’s Health Plan within 14 days of the birth of their child.
What service area is this benefit available in?
Harris, Jefferson and Northeast service areas.
