Here’s how to apply for CHIP or Medicaid coverage

Fill out an application

Get
approvedTexas Health and Human Services Commission will tell you if you can get CHIP or Medicaid for you or your children. They should contact you within 45 days.

Choose a plan and doctor
To choose a health plan and a main doctor, call 1-800-964-2777. You can cover all your children who qualify under one plan.
