ALERTA: ¡Mantente sano durante esta temporada de influenza y resfriados! Más información
Date: July 12, 2024
Attention: All Providers
Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) has just been notified that due to a process failure at Change Health Care (Change) a number of invalid checks have been erroneously issued. Change previously served as our payment processor. We transitioned our payment processing in February of this year in response to the cyber-security incident that caused Change to suspend services.
These paper checks were erroneously issued to a number of our providers for amounts previously paid via check or electronic funds transfer (EFT) dating back to February 20, 2024. We are writing to inform you that you may receive one or more of these checks.
These checks are not valid and should not be deposited. In the event your check is deposited, it will be rejected by your bank. If you are charged any banking fees as a result of this process, please contact your Texas Children’s Health Plan Provider Relations Liaison or Account Lead for assistance with getting reimbursed.
You can identify these invalid checks by the fact that they carry the TCHP brand and the check series numbers start with the number 4. If you receive one or more of these checks, they should be destroyed.
For reference, our valid checks have the Texas Children’s Hospital brand and the check series number starts with a 1 or 2. As stated above, the checks represent amounts previously paid by TCHP. If you are on a paper check payment program, you will continue to receive checks from TCHP that are valid and can be processed normally.
Please reach out to your Provider Relations Liaison or Account Lead with any questions or concerns you might have. Their contact information can be found here: https://www.texaschildrenshealthplan.org/for-providers/meet-our-team or you can email Provider Relations at providerrelations@texaschildrens.org.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for you and your practice.
