Call to action: Background information:
On July 1, 2022, The Health and Human Services commission (HHSC) submitted a good faith effort request to get federal approval to extend the Electronic Visit Verification Cures Act Home Health Care Services implementation deadline by one year.
How this impacts providers: Texas Children’s Health Plan would like to notify providers that The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have approved this request and HHSC will implement EVV for Medicaid home health care services on January 1, 2024.
HHSC will continue analyzing the impacted services required to use EVV by January 1, 2024. Updates will be shared as the implementation progresses.
HHSC has also posted frequently asked questions about the EVV home health care service implementation (PDF).
Next steps for providers: Providers should share this communication with their staff.
