For more than 25 years, Texas Children’s Health Plan has done only one thing. We help keep children and women in Texas healthy. We were founded in Houston by one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals. We are the nation’s first HMO focused on children. Since then, we have grown to cover more than 600,000 residents in 50+ counties of east Texas. We offer traditional Medicaid (STAR) plans, as well as CHIP and STAR Kids plans for those who need them. We are still based in Houston today. Our team is ready to help you all along the way, from getting signed up to getting the care you need. And we understand your needs. Not only are our folks from Texas, but many have been on Medicaid and CHIP too.

And we can help you get a ride to the doctor or the drug store if you need one.
Support to help you stay healthy
We offer support and education to help you make the most of your plan. We give you education and reminders on preventive care. And if you or your child have a more serious condition, we have a trained support team that can work directly with you. They can help set up doctor visits and help make a care plan.
